Second Series of ‘Love/Hate’ Currently Shooting

Production is currently underway on the set of the second series of ‘Love/Hate’. The first block of shooting, which is being directed by David Caffrey commenced two weeks ago in and around Dublin city and will continue for another two weeks. The second instalment of the series sees the return of cast members Robert Sheehan (Killing Bono); Aidan Gillen (Wake Wood); Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Becoming Jane); Ruth Bradley (Grabbers); Ruth Negga (The Nativity).

Other cast members returning from series one of the crime drama include Killian Scott (Single Handed) and Aoibhinn McGinnity (Wild Decembers). Further cast members are TBC. An RTÉ funded Octagon Films production, the current series of ‘Love-Hate’ is being produced by Suzanne McAuley (A Shine of Rainbows) and Steve Matthews and executive produced by James Flynn (P.S. I Love You) and Stuart Carolan (Raw) who also wrote the series.

The second block of shooting, which is due to commence in April will be directed by Anthony Byrne (Single Handed). The series’ director of photography is David Odd (My Boy Jack), the production manager is Annaliese O’Callaghan (production coordinator, A Knight’s Tale) and the location manager is Steven Davenport (Once). The costume designer is Aisling Wallace-Byrne (Na Cloigne).


The first block of ‘Love/Hate’ will be edited by Isobel Stephenson whilst the second block will be edited by Dermot Diskin, both of whom will be based in Windmill Lane. The second series of the show will transmit in Autumn 2011 with an extended run of six one hour episodes compared to last season’s four episode run.
